Pedro

The San Francisco Card Game

Chairman: John Damonte

Born in San Francisco’s North Beach and perfected on the Waterfront and in the Cafes, this exciting card game will test your abilities and gratify your desire to excel!  Pedro is a simple game and is easily learned.  Nevertheless, it requires talent and ingenuity, if you are to be a winner.  Pedro is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, with two teams of two players each.  The object of the game is to score 61 or more points before your opponents do.  Cards are dealt to the players.  One round of bidding determines the trump suit.  Certain cards have a point value from 1 to 5, with a total of 14 for each deal.  It then becomes a matter of capturing the point cards in the trump suit during the play of cards.  Pedro is a bidder’s game!  With all else being equal, the bold players, who are willing to bid aggressively and determine the trump suit, have the advantage and will win!  Come play with us after the meeting for about 2 hours and have some fun!!
